Schedule of Plant Availability

Most plant material is seasonally available. To expedite your order for dormant material, please make sure that your request is received by the deadlines listed below for each genus. Spring bud break in Corvallis usually occurs in early to mid-February, which limits the distribution of dormant cuttings and scionwood. Pollen and other propagules may be available by specific request. Please contact the Curator for the availability of material from genera that are not listed below.

Actinidia - Asimina - Corylus - Cydonia - Fragaria - Humulus - Juglans - Lonicera - Mentha - Mespilus - Pycnanthemum - Pyrus - Ribes - Rubus - Sorbus - Vaccinium

Corylus, Juglans

  • seed - October, November, December (requests due Sept. 1)
  • scionwood - January (requests due by Dec. 1)
  • in vitro - year round (Corylus only)

Fragaria

  • seed - year round
  • runners - June to September (requests due by May 1)
  • in vitro - year round

Humulus

  • seed - year round
  • rooted softwood cuttings - request due by June 1, rooted cuttings should be ready to send by mid-Summer.
  • rhizome cuttings - we have found it difficult to supply rhizomes from our potted screenhouse plants and offer rooted soft cuttings as an alternative.
  • in vitro - year round

Pycnanthemum

  • seed - year round
  • crown divisions - February (requests due by Jan. 1)

Mentha

  • seed - year round
  • rhizome cuttings - year round

  • seed - year round (Asimina seed has shelf life of one year)
