Taxon: Lamium galeobdolon (L.) Crantz

Genus: Lamium
Family: Lamiaceae (alt. Labiatae) subfamily: Lamioideae.
Nomen number: 403966
Place of publication: Stirp. austr. fasc. ed. 2, 2:262. 1769 (Linnaeus, Amoen. acad. 4:485. 1759, nom. inval.)
Comment: the designation "Lamium galeobdolon" L. (1759) was the result of a typographical error, as explained by Stearn (in Geck & Pressler, Festschr. Claus Nissen: 631. 1974), for what was apparently intended as Galeopsis galeobdolon L.
Name verified on: 16-Oct-2009 by ARS Systematic Botanists. Last updated: 16-Oct-2009
