Alternatives to Methyl Bromide Soil Fumigation for Vegetable Production

Development of new biologically based and reduced risk chemical alternative technologies to methyl bromide for production of tomato, pepper, strawberry, and cucurbits.
Working in Cooperation with Gustafson LLC on development of BioYield^TM 213, a product to be added to transplant mixes which contains several plant growth promoting rhizobacterial (PGPR) strains and which has improved plant vigor and yield of tomato, pepper, and strawberry.
Evaluation of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) for inducing disease resistance and increasing yields in cooperation with scientists at Auburn University.
Determining efficacy and application methodology for Plantpro^tm 45, an iodine based, reduced risk chemical, for control of root-knot nematode and important fungal and bacterial pathogens of tomato, pepper, and strawberry.
Assessment of rotation and cover crop effects on root-knot nematode and nonparasitic nematode populations.
