21 rootstocks and 500 trees

Propagated in field nursey at Whitmore Foundation Farm

Planted at Lynchburg field site in May 1991

Tree spacing at 18 feet by 9 feet

Six plots of four trees for each rootstock (24 trees per stock) planted in a randomized complete-block design.

Soil is Candler fine sand with pH about 6.4-7.0, Irrigation by overhead sprinkler.

Trees were hedged on alternating middles in 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999.
