Current Research Projects
Dr. Bausher initially worked on the physiological cause(s) of citrus blight and developed a protein based diagnostic test for the disease. He is currently developing techniques to assist in developing resistance to citrus diseases and screen new plant material for superior production qualities. The methods employed involve the molecular differentiation of "healthy" and "diseased" states in the plant. Currently he is developing "gene arrays" to study the expression of many genes in parallel. The objective of this work is to implement strategies of plant disease resistance and to improve production quality.
