Samples are received from field site sources.

Information is given to the Information Systems Support group to assign identification numbers and print cards and labels.
Samples are tested for internal contamination.

Samples are grown out to get enough shoot tips to conduct LN2 exposure tests.

Testing is conducted to determine appropriate regimes, i.e. pretreatment procedures, vitrification, encapsulation, and/or dehydration, and retrieval methodology to assure 40%+ survival. (Tissue culture preservation in LN2)
